An example of teaching and learning methods used.
The Te Hononga ki Ngā Tupuna Trust’s constitution specifies several principles underpinning the pedagogy that we use:
- encouraging students to recognise that learning te reo Māori and tikanga Māori is a life-long experience
- working holistically
- working on a basis of Māori principles including aroha, manaaki and wairua
Learning activities are centred on the learning styles and needs of the akonga. Activities are designed, and if necessary, redeveloped during each course to help akonga achieve their goals.
